Wikipedia's National Theatre (Munich) article lists it among the house's world premieres: "27 October 2006, Das Gehege by Wolfgang Rihm and Botho Strauss". Tim Ashley reviewed the double bill in The Guardian, 3 November 2006 (https://web.archive.org/web/20230724214036/https://www.theguardian.com/music/2006/nov/03/classicalmusicandopera2): "a disturbing new monodrama by Wolfgang Rihm ... Setting a bizarre fable by Botho Strauss, it depicts a woman's obsession with an eagle", with Gabriele Schnaut as the Woman and Kent Nagano conducting. A staged one-act work for the opera house, so it is in scope; findopera held no row for it. Created to file a broadcast of the premiere.
