Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse
Choeur du Capitole
Strauss, Arabella, Theatre du Capitole de Toulouse, 28 February 2006, Gunther (Guenter) Neuhold. Two sources, and they cover different things, so both are named.
DATE AND CAST: the cast sheet distributed with the recording, in the folder as "Arabella - 2006.02.28 (Neuhold, Toulouse) cast.txt". It opens "Donne le 28 fevrier 2006, Theatre du Capitole de Toulouse" and lists the Choeur du Capitole, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, "Direction : Gunter Neuhold", and the cast role by role. It is the only document that gives the day.
THE RUN, THE CAST AND THE FORCES, INDEPENDENTLY: Laurent Marty's review for ResMusica, "Arabella au Capitole, un spectacle... pour les oreilles", published 9 March 2006, https://www.resmusica.com/2006/03/09/un-spectacle-pour-les-oreilles/ . It reviews the performance of 5 MARCH 2006 -- a different night of the same run, not this one -- and gives the same venue, conductor, Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, Choeur du Capitole (chorus master Patrick Marie Aubert), and the same principals: Pamela Armstrong (Arabella), Anne-Catherine Gillet (Zdenka), Andrew Schroder (Mandryka), Gilles Ragon (Matteo), Franz Mazura (Waldner), Alexandrina Miltcheva (Adelaide). So the production, the forces and the casting are corroborated after the fact by a review; the 28 February date rests on the cast sheet alone.
ADELAIDE: the cast sheet has a defect at this one line -- it reads "Alexandrina Miltcheva : Alexandrina Miltcheva", the role having been lost. ResMusica supplies it: Miltcheva sang Adelaide, Arabella's mother. That is why she is entered against Adelaide here rather than being left out.
Billing: Arabella (Armstrong, the title role), Mandryka (Schroeder) and Zdenka (Gillet).
Not to be confused with findopera 11995, the Liege Arabella of 30 September 2006 under Patrick Davin, which shares Anne-Catherine Gillet as Zdenka and Steffen Schantz as Graf Elemer but is a different production, house, conductor and cast.
