The booklet essay and Maksakova's memoir in it date the Golovanov/Baratov Bolshoi production this set records to a 1950 premiere, which excludes the 1949 previously held here. Note the disagreement: operadis (CLMUKHOV.HTM) and ru.wikipedia's Khovanshchina discography table, which cites operadis, both give 1951(STU) for the same Melodiya D 01712-19 set. Two sources, one primary (the label's own remastering booklet) and one compiled, disagree between 1953 and 1951; taking the label's explicit sessions statement. 1949 is supported by neither.

Skazin was attached to the generic "En musketer" while the named role Kouzka sat empty.
